eDimensional sent me a copy of the Doom 3 Voice Buddy software along with their new AudioFX Force Feedback Headset. Doom 3 Voice Buddy is a totally new unique asset for gaming. You can control parts of the game via your voice instead of the keyboard. This comes in handy during big gun battles.

Ever got so hyped up in a game and had your fingers and moving flat out but you need to change gun really quick? Before, you’d have to move your hand right up to the keypad leaving you vulnerable to attack. Now you can just say, “Shotgun�, fire a few rounds, “pistol� fire some more without having to move your fingers leaving you enough time to manouver yourself out of a tricky situation, saving valuable time without having to move your fingers frantically around on the keyboard.

The Voice Buddy has loads and loads of commands for Doom 3. They are based on the default key combination. If you are using a custom layout it is also possible to edit the combinations using the Voice Buddy Command editor.
With the Voice Buddy you have Action Commands, these range from Escaping out of game, loading up the menu, PDA, switching weapons and many more.

The Force Feedback headset is like having a full 5.1 surround system in a pair of headphones. This headset features something no other headset has ever featured - built in sub woofer on your head. Now you can enjoy cinematic sound without annoying everyone else in your household. It’s also great for late night gaming when everyone else is trying to sleep but you’ve got a Doom 3 craving. The headset has padded earphones that are very comfortable to wear and a nice head support that is also padded. It looks very professional and has a high build quality. The earpiece can move from side to side and up and down so you are able to get the perfect fit. On the side are 3 lights. Green, Amber, and Red. This is a helpful gauge to monitor the loudness and it also adds a cool effect at nighttime.

If you’ve yet to complete the game and are finding you’re searching the Internet for walkthroughs, fear no more, as you can now ask Voice Buddy to teach you the briefings for the level. This can be done in a number of seconds and you’ll know what your mission briefing is without the wait.
Have you ever been trying over and over attacking an enemy trying to find its weak spot? Voice Buddy will tell you exactly how to defeat the desired enemy. You can also ask for the Combination Codes and any PDA downloads you may have missed during the game. There’s loads more commands and best of all if you find one missing you can easily add it in via the command editor
I highly recommend you check this out. It is available to order via eDimensional website. Even if you already have a headset you should consider upgrading to this one for two reasons: It has built in sub woofer, and pull down microphone that is great for talking to other players when in game.
