Torrents Files and The Original Files.

Index » Torrents Files and ... Following the success of the high res doom 3 images I've decided that when I release the next big doom 3 stuff that I will have the torrent file hosted here as well as the the original file. You can then download it via the server and also get the torrent file and help seed it on bittorrent. Once a few seeds are online then I will take off the file from the server to save on bandwidth costs and will make users aware of the torrent file. If at any point there are NO seeds then it will be availible on the server. The benefits of this: This way people can get FULL speeds from bittorrent. More people can leech the file. The server can only give out so many MB/s. Its very costly to give out high amounts of bandwidth. With each person helping out by seeding it reduces the costs and keeps D3HQ AD FREE! Thats it. A simple Idea with fast ways of getting files. George Findlay

Now we've the new server nearly all downloads will be avalible from the server. Except for extremly popular files which will have a large number of users wanting to download. eg, Doom 3 demo. For this I will revert to bittorrent for few weeks so the server isn't bogged down with requests
